Originally from Japan, Daïchi Saïto is a filmmaker based in Montreal, where he co-founded Double Negative in 2004. His films are in the permanent collections of the Austrian Film Museum, the Slovenian Cinematheque and the Academy Film Archive and have won several awards including Best of the Festival and Best Experimental Film Awards at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the Jury Grand Prize at Media City Film Festival, and the Tiger Award for Short Films at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. In 2013, his book Moving the Sleeping Images of Things Towards the Light was published by Le laps in Montréal.
