Shanell Papp lives and works in Lethbridge, Alberta. Papp maintains a labour-intensive research-based studio practice, curates for the local library, and teaches sessionally. Papp has shown work at AKA (Saskatoon), The New Gallery (Calgary), and City of Craft (Toronto). Papp has participated in residencies at the Gushul, Emma Lake, and the Banff Centre. Her work has been made widely available online and can be found on the CBC Arts, Radiolab, Boingboing, Make, and The Order of the a Good Death. Papp received a BFA from the University of Lethbridge in 2006 and an MFA from the University of Saskatchewan in 2010. Currently Papp has a solo show at the Estevan Art Gallery in Estevan, Saskatchwan (Based on a True Story) and a CBC interview for the program Exhibitionists.
