Cailyn Petrona Stewart is an Afro-Caribbean woman whose love for Afrofuturism and Afrofantasy is fueled by her growing up on the timeless rap bars of Outkast, the funkadelic frequencies of Parliament and the eccentric rhythms of her Caribbean and African roots. As a new writer, Cailyn has been inspired by the work of science fiction writer Octavia E. Butler, to fuse her academic background in discourses that centre Black people with her storytelling skills. Cailyn’s most recent short story, “Deceived,” was featured live on the 2017 Octavia City segment of The Black Tribbles radio show based in Philadelphia, US.
